Effective date: 24 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern use of Parth Jain Books (the "Website") and its optional Smart Annotation feature.
Parth Jain Books provides digital access to Jain religious, philosophical, and related reading materials together with supporting website features.
Smart Annotation is an optional browser feature. It allows users to select text and apply underline, bold, italic, blue highlight, yellow highlight, or green highlight formatting.
A user may connect one Google Sheet of the user's choice to store and restore annotations. The same selected sheet may be used across supported books on the Website.
Smart Annotation uses Google's authorization and Google Picker services. By choosing a Google Sheet, the user authorizes the application to access that specific Drive file for the annotation functionality.
The user's relationship with Google and use of Google services are also subject to Google's applicable terms, policies, and service availability.
The user is responsible for selecting an appropriate Google Sheet and maintaining its sharing permissions. The user should not select a spreadsheet containing information that the user does not want to make available to the Smart Annotation feature.
The Website does not guarantee the continued availability of a spreadsheet if the user deletes, moves, renames, restricts, or otherwise changes it in a way that prevents access.
The Website stores information needed to locate an annotation again, including selected text and document-position information. Restoration can fail if the underlying HTML book page is materially changed, text is moved or duplicated, or the selected spreadsheet is unavailable.
The Website does not require users to create a separate Parth Jain Books account in order to read the books or use Smart Annotation. Google authorization is used only when the user chooses to connect Smart Annotation to Google services.
Book materials displayed through the Website may be subject to rights belonging to authors, publishers, translators, contributors, or other rights holders. The Website does not claim ownership of third-party works unless expressly stated.
The Website's original software, interface, formatting, and technical work may be protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
Users must use the Website and Smart Annotation lawfully and must not attempt to circumvent security controls, interfere with the Website, abuse Google services, or gain unauthorized access to another person's data.
The Website and Smart Annotation are provided on an availability basis. Features may be changed, suspended, or discontinued. Google APIs and Google Drive services are third-party services and may change or become temporarily unavailable.
The user remains responsible for the Google Sheet selected for Smart Annotation, including backups and sharing permissions. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Website operator is not responsible for loss caused by deletion or modification of the user's spreadsheet, Google service interruptions, or changes made by the user to the spreadsheet or book content.
Use of personal information and Google user data is described in our Privacy Policy.
These Terms may be updated when the Website or its services change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
